Victor Perez Diaz
About
Samuel is from La Plata, Huila in Colombia. He did his Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. He works in machine learning for (astro)physics, and he is interested in deep learning interpretability, robustness and foundation models for the sciences. At the CfA, he is working on using machine learning for improving cross-matching methods applied to Chandra and Gaia catalogs. He will move to do a PhD in Computer Science at NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences in 2025.
