About
In 1965 I started collecting and calculating atomic and molecular line data for computing opacities and model atmospheres and then for synthesizing spectra. I have written several programs to compute grids of models and spectra and I now have data for billions of lines but need still more. I wanted to determine stellar effective temperatures, gravities, and abundances to study solar and stellar evolution. I still want to.
I am trying to determine the effective temperatures, gravities, and abundances of stars in order to study their evolution. I have produced high-quality atlases for testing the computed spectra.
The opacity data for atoms and molecules have not been good enough. I am now collecting and producing better atomic and molecular line data that should greatly improve the computed models and spectra.
