Cherry Mui

Cherry joined the Smithsonian Astrophysics Observatory (SAO) in late December 2024 as the first “floating” Research Operations Manager at the Director’s Office. She has 14+ years of sponsored research administration experiences in both Pre- and Post-Award Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she last served as the Senior Financial Officer and Manager for a team of 8 research finance staffs in the Department of Chemistry. Prior to her Chemistry appointment, Cherry served as the Fiscal Officer in various DLCs (Departments, Labs and Centers) within MIT where she learned and obtained her research administration knowledge, experiences and managerial skills.
