SAO Procurement, Contract, and Property Services
All procurement, contract, and property services of the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian operate under the oversight of its individual collaborative entities - Harvard College Observatory and/or Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory.
The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) Procurement, Contract, and Property Services is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and submitting all SAO proposals; negotiating, executing, administering, and closing out all incoming contracts, grants, cooperative agreements, and other awards that are received from our various sponsors; providing assistance with export control compliance regulations; procuring all goods and services required by the scientific divisions and administrative departments within SAO; issuing and administering all Chandra X-ray Observatory Center (CXC) awards for and on behalf of NASA; and assisting members of the SAO community with all of their travel and special events needs.
SAO Procurement, Contract, and Property Services is also responsible for SAO Property Management, Shipping & Receiving and Facilities Management at Cambridge Discovery Park.
