About
Ranjani Srinivasan is the lead digital backend (DBE) engineer for the Next Generation Event Horizon Telescope (ngEHT). The ngEHT project aims to make movies of black holes and study fundamental physics relating to Einstein’s theory of General Relativity among other objectives. She is designing part of the next generation instrumentation that will allow the astronomers to achieve the above goals. This instrument will process more signal bandwidth than before using very high speed analog to digital converters, and cutting edge digital electronics such as field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). Prior to joining SAO, she worked on the Submillimeter Array, the Y.T. Lee array and the Greenland Telescope.
