About
Peter Veres is an astronomer at the Minor Planet Center. He graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, and obtained his PhD in 2010. Peter had a substantial observing experience at Modra Observatory (optical photometry and astrometry), co-discovered many asteroids and comets with the Pan-STARRS survey at University of Hawaii (2011-2014), and simulated near-Earth object discoveries with the LSST at Caltech/JPL (2015-2017). Peter is interested in planetary defense, Earth impact hazards, Near-Earth aseroids, meteors, exoplanets, dynamics and big data science.
