About
Ole researches accreting compact objects in the X-ray wavelengths. He is interested in the spectral and timing signatures of black hole X-ray binaries to constrain the flow of matter surrounding the inner black hole. He also leads efforts to catch the fireball phase of novae and performs machine learning-based detector characterizations, particularly for pile-up effects. He is now a postdoctoral research fellow at the CfA working with Jack Steiner and Rafael MartÃnez-Galarza through the AstroAI collaboration. Ole received his PhD from the University Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2024. Outside of work, Ole is a passionate rock climber and loves exploring New England's climbing crags.
