About
Carl Barcroft received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boise State University. Prior to arriving at the Center for Astrophysics, he spent seven years designing and developing electronics to power and drive electric propulsion systems for spacecraft as well as other electronics for space applications. The experience he brings to the CfA is in space electronics hardware design including power electronics, embedded systems, high voltage electronics and RF engineering. Since joining the CfA in 2023 he has assisted the SSAXI team with developing power electronics for their x-ray imager sounding rocket payload and is currently the lead on two space-based instruments for HelioSwarm and ECCCO and the lead on a ground-based instrument called ViaSpec.
